O2 orgy of Fun

Our brief was to launch the new Pay & Go Unlimited tariff for O2 and engage with as many students as possible. Capitalising on student's natural competiveness, we devised a competition in Facebook that would encourage rivalry and group participation. The competition was called the 'O2 Unlimited Orgy of Fun'.

The hub of the campaign was a fan page that allowed students to sign up and support their university and participate in challenges. All challenges had an unlimited theme to ensure promotion of the tariff. Students were playing to win individual prizes as well as the grand prize of an end of terms party.

It proved a great success:

  • 170 universities participated – 77% of total number of universities in the UK
  • 420,000 video views via the Facebook funwall
  • 9,347 competition entries
  • 76,169 O2 fans – approx 19% of total number of students in the UK
  • Significant increase in awareness of the new tariff
